The Bread of Sin, Versus The Bread of Life – Sermon

We examine Ezekiel 4:9-15, 36:22-29 , Romans 10:9-13 &John 6:35

Sceon took us through these passages and invited us to understand the following

In Ezekiel 4:9–15, God demonstrates that although He must discipline His people because of sin, His correction is not cruel or careless. Even in judgment, He shows compassion by responding to Ezekiel’s concern, revealing that His discipline is tempered with mercy.

In Ezekiel 36:22–29, God promises restoration—not because Israel deserved it, but for the sake of His holy name. He declares that He will cleanse them, give them a new heart, and place His Spirit within them, showing that His love restores and transforms purely by grace.

Finally, in John 6:35, Jesus Christ reveals the fullness of that love by declaring Himself the Bread of Life, offering spiritual satisfaction and eternal life to all who believe.

Together, these passages show that God’s love corrects, restores, and provides life—His mercy is not earned, but freely given because of His faithful and compassionate nature.
