Global Prayer Call – Church in Guyana prepares for special contribution
Wednesday August 7th 2019
Tonight we continued our monthly prayer time. Tonight we petitioned God for the opening of the floodgates as we prepare for our special contribution at the end of October . We were encouraged from scripture by Errol Cummings using the text of Psalm 50. This was an encouragement that “God doesn’t need our finances but he desires our sacrifice and obedience”
“Sacrifice thank offerings to God,
fulfill your vows to the Most High,
and call on me in the day of trouble;
I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”Psalm 50:14-15
We are currently seeking to expand our ministry work in the region 3 as God has granted us three baptisms in that region since having our worship services there in the past two years. We recently had a Community Service and saw our attendance triple on that Sunday and many friends visiting and studying the bible since.
It has been customary for us as part of our anniversary celebrations to do a free will offering . Last year we challenged ourselves to double our regular average giving and God blessed us with the victory . For the most part this sacrificial giving goes towards our ongoing building fund which is in keeping with our 2025 Vision .
The goal this year is $300,000 Guyanese dollars(GYD) or $1500 United States dollars. The minimum wage in our country is $60,000 GYD with an average household utility expense being half of that however the Christians have been faithful to God in his provision and have been able to sacrificially give towards the service in his Kingdom .
Please join us in prayer and feel free to give as well, as we seek to continue the work here in Guyana.
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
Mark 11:24
